Thou shall NOT kill!

As I relaxed at home on a Sunday afternoon watching the “Black Girls rock” award ceremony(you can find out more about it here), I could not help but think about the situation in South Africa.

Black-Girls-Rock

Black people have come a long way. We were slaves who worked on cotton farms did not have rights and could be bought and sold like property.

Now we are working as doctors, engineers, lawyers, entrepreneurs and so on. We have fought for freedom, together. We should remain united, grow together and celebrate our achievements.

Instead, we want to take away our own freedom. Violence targeting African immigrants which started earlier in April in the port city of Durban has claimed the lives of people and left others seriously injured. They refer to it as xenophobia, I call it black on black crime. We have come too far and fought too hard to take ourselves backwards. We are rational and educated people. We can, & should resolve our issues in better ways. A house divided cannot stand!

“Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword….” (Matthew 26:52)

I wish all these irrational terrorists and south Africans could understand the above and put away their weapons!

Gun-Violence

That being said, much as these people are trying to kill our spirit, LET US STAND STRONG & STAY TRUE TO OUR FAITH.

There is no gun that can kill our souls.
